Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use the Michiu website, book a table, send us a message, or join the Circle of Michiu. We've kept them readable. If anything is unclear, email info@michiu.nl.

Using this website

You're welcome to browse, share, and link to anything on michiu.nl. The site, its design, photography, copy, and brand marks are owned by Michiu — please don't reproduce them commercially without asking. We don't allow scraping, automated harvesting, or using the site to train models without our consent.

Reservations

When you book a table, you're agreeing to show up. We hold tables for fifteen minutes past the booking time; after that we may release the table. If you're running late, tell us — we'll do what we can.

Cancellations are free up to 24 hours before your booking. For groups of eight or more, our group-booking terms apply (we'll send those when you inquire). For repeated no-shows, we may decline future bookings.

Allergies and dietary requirements: tell us at booking, not on arrival. The kitchen handles allergens with a separate prep flow but only when we know about them in advance. We can't guarantee a fully allergen-free environment for severe allergies; ask us directly if you need certainty.

Direct messages and reviews

When you message us on Instagram or Facebook, we treat the conversation as private — we won't share it publicly without your permission. We may keep records of past messages so a follow-up has context, and we may use anonymized examples internally to improve how we reply.

Public reviews you leave on third-party platforms (Google, TheFork, Tripadvisor, etc.) are subject to that platform's terms. We may reply publicly. We never argue with a reviewer. If we got something wrong, we own it.

Circle of Michiu

The Circle is a recognition program — it remembers you, but it's not a contract. We may adjust how the program works over time; if we change anything that affects your tier or benefits, we'll tell you directly. You can leave at any time by emailing us.

We never reference a member's tier publicly. The Circle is felt, not announced.

Pricing and payment

Prices on the website and menu may change. Final pricing is what's on the menu when you visit. We accept the major card networks and most contactless methods. Service is included in the displayed prices; tipping is welcome but never expected.

In the dining room

We don't enforce a dress code. We do ask that you treat our team and other guests with respect. We reserve the right to refuse service in cases of harassment, intoxication, or anything that disturbs other guests' evening.

Liability

We do our best to keep the website accurate, but we don't guarantee it's free of typos or that every linked third-party page is current. We're not responsible for what happens on platforms we link to.

For your visit itself: standard restaurant liability under Dutch law applies. We carry appropriate insurance. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer-protection law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Any dispute that can't be resolved by talking first will be heard by the competent court in Amsterdam.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when our practices or the law change. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes that affect existing reservations or memberships will be communicated directly.
